I Love Trains Week
I Love Trains Week – #ilovetrains – has launched this week and features actress, Donna Air, showing her support by changing her name to ‘Donna Train’ for the week!
It’s a great campaign and one we’re proud to be involved with. At the heart of I Love Trains Week is a simple truth borne out of extensive research – that train travel inspires British people from a very young age, and has social and personal connections that other modes of transport can’t match.
So far we’ve seen some lovely content shared by passengers and train lovers using #ilovetrains, and the integrated campaign East Coast has created has turned in to something real, both physical at trains and stations, and social across different channels.
Donna Air has been wonderful to work with and ‘gets’ it. She has travelled with East Coast since her Byker Grove days, and genuinely loves train travel. Her name change was a great way to add something fun and different, and we had great feedback from the likes of The Sun and Mail Online. They appreciated the quirky element for their readers, which is a bit of fun and helps draw attention to #ilovetrains.
It also gave us a laugh at some of the Twitter comments about the name change, showing it worked as a tongue in cheek way of getting people talking. This is the benefit of PR, knowing how to create content that reaches a wide audience by translating in to a digital and tabloid environment, without taking itself too seriously.
So pop over to www.ilovetrains.co.uk and enjoy some of the great stories being shared by people, check out the guest vlogger, Raphael Gomes, and some lovely images from professional Instagram photographer, Allan Edward Hilton.
